The Grantsmanship Center was founded in 1972 by Norton J. Kiritz to offer grantsmanship training to nonprofit and government agencies. Before this time, no such training existed and small organizations often lacked the skills to compete for grant opportunities. The Center began as a local project in Los Angeles, but as word of its alumni's successes spread, demand for trainings rapidly expanded. Soon organizations in other cities were asking to host training programs in their own communities. By 1975, The Grantsmanship Center was conducting more than 100 workshops a year across the country.

Part comedy, part tragedy, it’s the life of a writing team trying to make it in Hollywood. We’ve sold movies, we’re in the Writer’s Guild, we’ve pitched TV shows to networks – but we’re still working on our big break. Our show is about writing, Hollywood and our experiences on the way to…we wish we knew what.

The Hillbilly Chronicles is a collection of fictional short stories by D L Ennis. The Hillbilly Chronicles are stories of the citizens of the fictional mountain community of Pig Waller Holler, Virginia. I have chosen to use the same narrator, who shall remain nameless for now, to narrate all of the Hillbilly Chronicles stories giving them more unity and allowing readers to feel more closeness to the people of Pig Waller Holler. Our narrator is a laidback man in his mid-fifties that may just be a little wiser than most of the charters in the stories, at least he likes to think he is. One thing is for sure is, he has a thesaurus and he's not afraid to use it. This is the introductory show.

This podcast is birthed from Patrick and Jay’s frequent phone calls (even when we were next door neighbors we talked on the phone often) and conversations, in hopes that we can mine our obsessions and interests (writing, music, weather, hiking, movies, football, cemeteries, bears, state fairs, masks, coins, Smokey Robinson’s frozen dinners, talking to each other, friends and strangers, being afraid of each other, friends and strangers, BBQ, and the sea, to name a few) in a way that’s interesting

Harlots’ Sauce gets its name from the Italian pasta sauce, “salsa puttanesca”, a tomato sauce invented by harlots in Naples, Italy, many years ago. The sauce had to be quick to fix - between clients (wink) - and economical. Nonetheless, those women made something delicious out of a limited choice of ingredients. The motto, “Something Delicious Out of Limited Choices“, is the theme of this online magazine and podcast. In today’s age, when there is so much political corruption and worldwide ill will, the aim of the writings and talks at Harlots’ Sauce Radio is to inspire, educate, and global community. Every month, we feature a new podcast interview on the site with a special someone who lives this motto every day of his or her life. The podcast interviews are conducted by me, and I am honored to be able to offer these interviews alongside the written work of a team of extraordinarily talented writers, who come from various parts of the world. Their thoughtful, intelligent commentary presents different perspectives on a variety of issues. The purpose of an online magazine and podcast that allows for more than one point of view on issues is to allow our minds and our hearts to to the people around us.

What does it mean when you have a crush on your wrestling opponent after you just kicked his butt? Can you be in love with a teammate? Paco's teammate Chad missed school, all the moms in the baseball bleachers know, for a sexual abuse trial. Most parents frown upon him because he acts out, but Paco's parents smile when their son brings Chad home. Their friendship has evolved with the ferocity of a wolf pack by the time Paco's great-grandfather tells him he's a two-spirit. Will his parents accept their son for who he is? Do they know? Looking at sexual abuse, alcoholism, recovery, and the prejudice in cultural expectations, this book is the first in the series narrated by Paco and his pack.

Ever wonder how a band creates its unique "sound," or what makes a particular song so distinctive? As we spend our days dissecting tracks for the Music Genome Project, it occurs to us that most people don't get to hear songs before they're finished. We thought it might be interesting for folks to learn more about what goes into songwriting. These podcasts are our attempt to give you an inside look at the techniques musicians use to put their signature on the music they write and perform. We do get into a little music theory, but we've tried to make it interesting and understandable for anyone who's even just a little curious about music. Pandora's Podcast Series is hosted by Pandora music analyst Kevin Seal from the band Griddle.

Rules of writing are discussed, but analysis is focused mainly on aesthetics.
