  • Read It And Weep
One of the funniest podcasts out there

If you're like me you hate things that suck, and there are a lot of things that suck out there in the world. Thankfully, Read It And Weep is there to dish it out to the crappy pop fiction that deserve it the most. Twilight, The Lost Symbol... The Notebook.... They all had it coming. Listen and enjoy!

One of the most important film events of the year is happening this weekend in Atlanta – it’s The International Black Man Film Festival. Auburn Avenue Library 101 Auburn Ave NE / Atlanta GA 30303 12noon to 9pm / Free / All Are Welcome info@blackmanfilmfest.net usa phone > 404.432.2194 this festival is celebrating it’s 8th year with a bang.  on saturday if you are in Atlanta, you must make your way to the Auburn Ave. Library and join the crowd.  the films  and discussions will be first rate.  many will bring you face to face with your own sensibilities – like our subject today, Saggin. 1pm SAGGIN’ IN THE ATL… Directed by Tracy Crews With Rajheem, C.T. Martin, Richard Pennington, D-Roc, Yemi Toure. A film about the pant sagging phenom and one of the ways Atlanta is trying to combat it. We hear from those who are outraged, and from those who are outraged that some others are outraged. Documentary – 25 mins Saggin in The ATL is all about the Black Male Point of View on the saggin phenomenon.  it’s filmed and produced by Black Men, in hopes that the rest of us will finally understand the myraid of emotions which surround this issue. I had a chance to sit down with one of the Producers of the Film and the Head of the Festival – my friend Yemi Toure’. Knowing Brother Yemi is a great patron of  the arts and one of my favorite sociologists;  I ask the real questions and Brother Yemi puts it on the table. He lets us pick it up, because we all own a part of it; regardless of what we think, we do.  Even I had to stand corrected – and gladly so.  this short pod is quite enlightening on the entire situation around Saggin. Take a moment and listen to 5 minutes on why the future is walking around us everyday; and what we need to do to relate to it, now. Tomorrow we’ll look at another segment of the festival program. complete with another short podcast segment from Brother Yemi – our cultural curator for this weekends International Black Man Film Festival. Today we talk about the face of craziness and addiction. specifically prescription drugs, such as Oxycontin. yeahhhh we writing about the Oxycontin Express. and yes since it’s thursday you’re right we got a lil somthin for ya to sip on - you can listen to our interview with a grand master, in oh so many ways: Presenting our newest Coorespondant – Mr One. Mr One as we call him is an oldtyme head. he’s someone who’s been through the federal certification process; without any problems. he pissed; he went to jail – boom. this man knows his drugs and today he takes us on the Oxycontin Express. it’s not pretty – oh my goodness, it’s really not pretty. ODB – SNAP ! people say Old Dirty Bastard died of multiple prescription drug overdoses at the same time. it’s reported that he had so many drugs in his blood stream when he died, they just declared it massive systemic failure due to drug intoxication. sad indeed from such a young lyrical genius. Amazingly in the video He was flowing like butter, messed up like whoa. damn OLDDIRTY,, (sideeye and a neck twist) why you gotta come outta jail and kill yourself maynnn. you was the ish. I loved me some ODB, still do actually.. anyway that brings me to another of my favorite on stage drug abusers that everybody loves, cause he’s just sooo twwweeet… NOT. look at that lil gremlin lookin yeezie… Sweet Jesus, Pushin Up a Cup of Sizzurp. to quote yeezees’   description of his situation – “Higher Than All of the Angels Be“.  wow.. and proud, whew ! I’m so through with all of this trashtalking.  We’ll let him tell you from his own mouth, and maybe you’ll see how bad his problem really is. have mercy Lauren, that’s all we can say. this is a genetic mess in expensive tennis shoes. why doesn’t he stop sippin that damn sizzurp ? doesn’t he know that we all know, that he’s stone cold “juiced up” almost all the time you see him onstage, or in any interview; always. you can listen to our interview with a grand master, in oh so many ways: Presenting our newest Coorespondant – Mr One. what’s the real deal on these drug issues y’all ? Lets be honest, what’s making this craziness paramount in the entertainment business today ? isn’t it about time entertainers started entertaining us again; instead of shocking us out ? Damn Y’all put that mess down, it ain’t all that,   really doh.. <embed id="ce_91138932" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="400" height="300" src="http://current.com/e/9113

World Just Keep on Spinnin… Stuff Keep on Happening – so why is it that we aren’t seeing any of this on the Network News? ahhhhhhhh,, Because they want you to have to come to BadGalsRadio Daily Blog to Know What’s Happening OUTSIDE Your Borders. First Lets Look at A Continental Disaster – Flooding in West Africa UN warns on West Africa floods (clipped from bbcnews.Com) Floods in Ouagadougou have almost brought the city to a standstill Heavy flooding has now affected some 350,000 people across West Africa, killing at least 32 in Ghana and Burkina Faso, UN officials say. More than 150,000 people in Burkina Faso have fled their homes, mainly in the capital Ouagadougou. A UN spokeswoman said the amount of rain that fell in Ouagadougou on one day this week was equal to a quarter of the whole country’s annual rainfall. Neighbouring countries affected include Benin, Guinea, Niger and Senegal. The United Nations is warning that numbers killed are likely to rise and has sent an assessment team to Burkina Faso. In pictures: Burkina Faso floods At least seven people are known to have died in Burkina Faso, where the capital has seen the heaviest rains in 90 years. The BBC’s West Africa correspondent John James says some of the displaced have moved in with friends and families, but most are dependent on the government which is struggling to cope. The Burkinabe authorities say there is a desperate need for blankets, clothes and food and President Blaise Compaore has appealed to the international community for help. He said those made homeless were being temporarily rehoused in schools and colleges. The waters flooded 24,000 homes and the city’s infrastructure – roads have been washed away and electricity has been cut off. Prime Minister Tertius Zongo said on Friday the cost of flood damage had risen to $152m (£92m) and included two destroyed dams and 12 damaged bridges. Floodgates Earlier in the week, Ouagadougou’s main hospital was badly flooded from water pouring over a nearby dam. The Belgian Red Cross says 60 children as well as other patients had to be evacuated. The authorities were forced to open the main gate of a hydroelectric dam in the Volta River basin near the Ghana border to prevent further flooding. “Cultivated land on the reservoir’s shores and further upstream will be flooded. We warn riverside residents to stay away from the shores,” Venance Bouda, the official in charge of hydroelectric power, told the Associated Press news agency. In Ghana at least 25 people have already died in flooding-related incidents, officials say. The torrential rains have also hit other countries in the region – in Senegal 30,000 homes were flooded while in Guinea 20,000 people are affected. Our reporter says similar floods in 2007 killed 300 people. The Hillbilly Jihad is screaming and biting off fingers at Town Halls on Healthcare across the country – wonder if they’ve seen this ?
