London's 135 metre tall Millennium Wheel, known as the London Eye, is one of the most popular 'new' attractions in the city.
Built for the year 2000 millennium celebrations, this giant ferris wheel has 40 'pods', each of which can contain up to 25 people. One complete revolution takes 30 minutes and allows riders to see right across this vast city.
Enjoy the ride!

Watch as London prepares for the forthcoming Royal Wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton.
These scenes capture the preparation, from the many Union Flags flying throughout the centre of London, to the TV broadcast pavilion at Buckingham Palace.
We watch Horseguards practising their parade moves, and the window displays at London's top toy shop, Hamleys of Regent Street.
Finally we tune into rehearsals for a singing group getting ready for a show on American broadcaster NBC who have set up a temporary 'home' in Trafalgar Square.

LLTV steps out into 2011 with some fresh filming of London.
New on the skyline this year is a new tall tower called The Shard being built next to London bridge station on the South Bank.
We take a walk along the beach, accessible when the Thames is at low tide. We're searching for disposable smoking pipes left over from Victorian times when litter-strewn Londoners used to smoke them and then toss over the bank or from boats.
We end up almost in the shadow of the Shard at Borough Market, joining the throngs of office workers and tourist enjoying the warm and sunny Friday lunchtime to enjoy delicious food.
We conclude by watching a slightly crazy student band busking outside Southwark Cathedral, next door to the market!

A couple of years ago, an LLTV episode showed me jumping on my mountain bike and heading somewhat shakily through central London using a cheap 'cyclecam'.
Two years on, the equipment is better and the pictures have become truly high definition so it's time to do it again!
This time I:
Start at Oxford Circus,
Head south along Regent Street to Piccadilly Circus,
Turn into Shaftesbury Avenue and cycle to Cambridge Circus,
Head south from Cambridge Circus along Charing Cross Road to Trafalgar Square,
Turn off into Whitehall, passing Downing Street,
Arrive at Parliament Square and turn left ono Westminster Bridge to finish at County Hall.
It all happens in real-time and in high definition, so come along for the ride!

In this episode I wanted to contrast the fresh new architecture in the the City of London with the much older buildings around and about.
The LLTV camera takes us to Bishopsgate (Primrose Street) to look at the contrasting architectures of two buildings - one, Broadgate Tower, a few months old and and the other a church more than 250 years old.
We step from the modern public space of Exchange Square with sculptures and waterfalls behind Liverpool Street station to the church of St-Botolph's-Without-Bishopsgate built in the mid 1700s and full of ornate religious paintings an icons, where we attend a wedding ceremony!
