This will for ever be known as the walking podcast. I decided to take a train, early one Sunday morning, to the Berkshire village of Pangbourne, and walk the 7 miles back in to Reading. Using my iRiver portable recorder, I talk about my weight loss so far, and some of the positive things that have happened since I came back to England from the United States a month ago.Photos of this adventure ar at http://janesdaddy.smugmug.com/gallery/1598518.

In this episode, I use my imagination to foresee what I will look like in 18 months time. Eva Longoria becomes my next wife. Back in reality, I review what has happened since the last podcast. My toe infection stops me from doing my walking exercise. I report back on the Mrs Dash salt alternative experiment. The trouser waistband test feels good, but the scales don't lie: 352lb, down a pound. Not great, but at least it's a step in the right direction. Finally I talk about why I chose NOT to go for bariatric surgery.Subscribe using the RSS link on the right, or listen now with the Pickle Player below. My Odeo Channel (odeo/0ad30e2b8d929126)

Every journey of 1,000 miles starts with a single step. Here is the first podcast in a series that I expect will last until September 2007, chronicling my weight loss journey from a fat blob into a bronzed Adonis-like figure. I highlight some of the things that you can read in my written blog, which is at http://eatrightgetoutofbreath.blogspot.com/.Subscribe using the RSS link on the right, or listen now with the Pickle Player below.
