Like good story telling, good theology takes lots of hard work, lots of good thinking. Unfortunately, it's too easy to take the easy way, and just accept whatever we've been told. We're exhorted in scripture to test everything, and that really does mean EVERYTHING.
The audio is really glitchy, but the content makes it worth publishing (I think). There are some pops, and obviously missing parts of words, but I think you can figure it out. If it's too bad, let us know.
Keep Dan in your prayers. He was in and out of the hospital all last week. Mostly in the hospital, while his girls were starting school and his wife was still adjusting to a new job. He's home now. I got a chance to talk to him [Monday]. He sounded good, but very tired.
If you fill out the contact form (http://www.opendiscipleship.org/contact), Dan will get a copy of it. I think it would make him feel better if some of you would send get well wishes.

“Theology Rocks - truths to stand on” is a production of OpenDiscipleship.org, "teaching great truths to trustworthy people who are able to pass them on to others."
“Theology Rocks - truths to stand on” is...
Simple, clear talk about theological truths for Christians. A
conversation between two Christian brothers about all kinds of
theological issues, daily issues with theological implications, and how
Christianity should permeate every aspect of the Christian's life.
Sometimes we get confused between our Bible (KJV, NIV, NASB, NLT, NET, ASV, ad infinitum). Our point is that none of those are The Bible. Throw in The Message, the Living Bible and company, and you're compounding translation problems with paraphrase. Toss in some presuppositions, some flawed teaching and a pinch (or more) of pride, and you get problems aplenty.
Our point is, "there's more to the Bible than your translation."
There are a whole mess of great tools online that we didn't even mention in the podcast:
BibleGateway.com - 20 versions of the Bible in English along with other languages, some commentaries, some audio readings, and a host of other resources.
BlueLetterBible.com - 14 version of the Bible (including the Latin Vulgate), a "Treasury of Scripture Knowledge" (extensive cross-referencing), Lexicon/Concordance for Hebrew and Greek, commentaries (not only text, but also audio, video and study tools), maps, hymns, images, and dictionary aids. This is probably one of the most underrated study tools on the net.
Bible.org - Home of the NET Bible (New English Translation), but also filled with tools, commentaries, devotionals, etc.
International Bible Society (Writers of the New International Version) with a host of useful tools. I really appreciate their Book Introductions from the NIV Study Bible among other things.

Denying the Trinity has become not only relatively common in the modern church, but many people are afraid to stand up to those who are denying it. "If you believe in Christ but reject His unique deity, you might have a very nice religion, but can you call it Christianity?" Gregory Koukl
