Tech Matters 06: Saturday Morning - Running with Troy (and swimming)
So here we are in the middle of our final "play time." I liked hearing from Troy Hicks about three tech projects that he will be supporting this Fall out of the Red Cedar Writing Project. The one that perked my ears the most was a digital portfolio project he will be doing this year with a group of high school teachers. He wants to offer these teachers an alternative to Blackboard, and that question connected to many of my own. Is there a content management system that would be more open and effective for teachers to use than Blackboard? What about using WordPress? I've gotten pretty close to setting up a system of individual blogs that could then be aggregrated to who group blogs. But this solution requres a developer to help me to make the code to work properly. What about Drupal? Is it easy enough or is it too difficult for most teachers to use? Then there's ELGG...Ultimately, I think we need to get together at the cmsacademy.net and hash this out.
