In this episode of the SMRpodcast, Chris was away on a road trip, but, we were lucky to have Allison Sheridan from the NosillaCast podcast and Terrance Gaines from Brothatech.comsit in with us and talk tech.
This week we cover a lot of Apple news and the goings on at WWDC 2012. We talk about the MacBook Pro and the new Retina display, iOS 6, and, Leopard. We also cover a bit of Windows 8 and question if Windows RT tablets will cost more than the iPad.
We touch on how good of an IM client BBM is and ponder if Google or Facebook will offer a cross platform app that rivals it in features. We've got all this plus some really good picks this week in episode #121 of the SMRpodcast...

SMRpodcast #164 is online and ready for download. This week BlackBerry Live and Google I/O kick off and we dive right into BlackBerry news and Google rumors.
BlackBerry announced that that they are taking BBM cross platform and bringing it to Android and iOS. There was no mention of BBM for Windows Phone or a desktop client, so, BBM wont' be truly cross platform.
There are rumors that Google will announce a streaming music service at I/O this week. Chris wonders if, with so many other streaming options, it will catch on beyond people who live completely in Google's ecosystem. Robb thinks that even if it doesn't, so many people do live in Google Land that it is probably worth the effort... And it beats Apple and Amazon to their respective streaming services

Windows Blue will be free, Amazon launches Virtual Currency, and Telsa sales are beating BMW, Mercedes and Audio in Q1. We've got all this plus our picks in episode #164 of the SMRpodcast.

SMRpodcast episode #163 is online and ready for download. We had a full crew this week, but, we talked about whatever we wanted like we do in the Chicken Wings and Beer episodes...
This week we start with the story of how Chris' OCD caused him to buy a new truck. We also touch on automated cars and if we would drive them.
None of us would be willing to $1500 for Google Glass, but, we all probably would get one once the price comes down. We also think that that other companies will come out with their version of Google Glass, as, wearable computing is here to stay.
In other news it looks like tax-free online shopping is going bye-bye, Microsoft sells 500 million copies of Windows 8 in roughly the same amount of time as they did Windows 7, and the next XBox will not require an always on internet connection.
We've got all this, our, picks, and more in episode #163 of the SMRpodcast...

We are a day late, but, SMRpodcast #162 has been recorded, is online, and is ready for download. We have the full cast this week and jump right into the news with thoughts on BlackBerry CEO, Thorsten Heins, actually saying out loud that he believes tablets will be obsolete within 5 years. For the first time, more messages were sent via mobile instant messaging apps like WhatsApp Messenger and Facebook Messenger than on SMS. The entire crew believes WWDC selling out in 2 minutes is stupid and that there has to be a better way to be able to attend. We also dig into why Chris thinks standing in line at a Red Box kiosk is stupid, talk about the new Switch to Windows Phone Android App, and learn why some websites can't use special characters in passwords. We've got all this, our picks, plus, our own Rod Simmons releases his first Windows Phone app in episode #162 of the SMRpodcast. Episode #160 of the SMRpodcast is online and ready for download. The Traveling One, also know as Rod Simmons is out, so, you know Chris and Robb broke out another Chicken Wings and Beer Show. This week the show starts off with our thoughts and opinions on comments made by Leo Laporte on TWiT #401. Let's just say that Chris and Robb have very different views on the topic and agree to disagree. There wasn't a lot of tech news over the last week, but, we did talk about Google settling it's suite with the EU. Robb and Chris both agree that Google didn't have to give in too much. There are strong rumors surfacing that Microsoft plans to not only bring the the Start Menu back, but, allow Windows 8 users to boot directly to the Desktop... PC sales are down 12% as SmartPhones and Tablets are on the come up. Comcast plans to scramble basic cable, and Chris and Robb have new TV shows that they like.
