We went to The Exploited concert in Yeni Melek in Istanbul and we podcast from there.
Although our ears are still not working so well, we post for you the comments of a real punk rock night, with slogans, fights and a lot of noisy (but quality and honest) music.
The real surprise for us was the good performances of the local bands, like not made in china and tampono who show that Istanbul has a real punk soul, maybe much real than other european cities where often punk rock becomes a commercial music genre or a cool way of wearing. Not here! In Istanbul kids are tough and they shout out loud!
Something is wrong with Athena or Athena did something wrong to the punks??? Not a very warm welcome to them in yeni melek yesterday night, but a lot of bad words. Anyway, musically, they were excellent, with a professional sound and good energy.
Exploited... Punk? Metal? Hardcore? Nothing at all....... just an EARTHQUAKE! If somebody knows how to be extreme these are The Exploited. Not fake business reunions but hard music without compromise.
