Say what you will about the man, but you cannot deny the fact that Michael Jackson had UNGODLY talent (plus he had his own video game!) We here at the MONOLITH could not do a show without mentioning the passing of the King Of Pop, he will be missed. The Summer is filled with so many movies, we felt devoting an entire show to just one film would be silly. So Chuck and I decided to talk about a bunch (i.e., several) movies! Oh yes, today's episode is our first annual Mid-Summer Movie Preview Spectacular! There is nothing quite like two uninformed radio hosts offering opinions on films they haven't seen. Also, we've got a review on HBO's new series Hung. A show with strong parallels to Chuck's life (kind of eerie really.) A good time is guaranteed so take a listen and help spread the word about MONOLITH! DR [email protected] http://monolithreviews.blogspot.com/

I can't say we're going to make a habit of reviewing movies that go straight-to-video, but Trick 'r Treat turned out to be pretty damn good. I'm not exactly sure why Warner Bros. scrapped plans for a theatrical release and shelved this movie for two years, but I have my have my theories (yes...that's a tease for you to listen to the show.) Also, in the spirit of All Hallows' Eve, Chuck and I discuss at length the David Letterman scandal. Indeed, nothing says Halloween like extortion and improper workplace relations. If you hadn't guessed by now, this is a very eclectic episode. Join the fun and help spread the word about MONOLITH! DR http://monolithreviews.blogspot.com/

Whenever Chuck and I try to think of the most memorable show we've done, "The Scientology Episode" always comes first to mind. At the time we were genuinely scarred about posting this episode. Looking back now, I can't see why (my guess is that we're dumb.) I mean really, is Tom Cruise going to smite us through the help of his Alien Overlord? After rummaging through the MONOLITH archives, I located "The Scientology Episode" and decided this episode must be reposted! I had to edit the intro song (turns out, not everybody is a fan of Chuck's singing) but the rest of episode is intact. This is truly, one of our most entertaining episodes so take a listen and help spread the word about MONOLITH! DR [email protected] http://monolithreviews.blogspot.com/ Original post from 11/22/2008: Can a simple documentary & movie review spell the end of the Monolith Podcast? Is Scientology a "cult" or a "religion"? Is Tom Cruise guilty of PROSELYTIZING (big word of the day) in his film, War of the Worlds? Will Don and Chuck fall victim to a "Fair Game" reprisal attack? Will the audience be entertained? Take a listen and find out.

Rarely do I watch the same film twice during it's theatrical run. As a matter of fact, I almost never have the urge to watch the same movie twice in the same weekend. Before the Inglorious Basterds, the only film I seen twice in the theater on the same weekend was Lionheart starring Jean Claude Van Damme. I felt no other movie could elicit such a strong reaction out of me. I was wrong. I've seen Inglorious Basterds twice this weekend and I want to see it again. In today's episode, we've got an in-depth review of Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Basterds. Be forewarned, there will be spoilers. Also, we've got Chuck's review of G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. A film Chuck liked so much that he had to watch it twice on the same weekend...seriously. This is truly an EPIC-SIZED episode. So take a listen, have a laugh and help spread the word about MONOLITH! It's hard to believe we've been doing this show for a year. It seems like only yesterday Chuck and I recorded our very first show about some absolutely random horror movie (the GOD awful Undead.) We've come a long way since then. Reviewing everything from sports, TV, politics, video games, Chuck's life. Nothing was safe from our analytical eye. So perhaps it was fitting that we come full-circle on our first anniversary show by reviewing another totally random horror movie, The Mist. This film came out about two-years ago but it's one of our recent favorites here at MONOLITH. But more importantly, Shawn's back! He joins us later in the show to discuss the Strikeforce - Gina Carano vs. Cris Cyborg MMA card from San Jose and the latest news about Michael Vick. At over 90 minutes, we go all out on this episode so take a listen and help spread the word about MONOLITH! DR [email protected] http://monolithreviews.blogspot.com/
